This week end, we went back to Gate 43 on Quabbin. I was sick last week end, so Don went on his own to Gate 31 and did not really catch anything. To be honest, after the past few weeks, we were not expecting much…but since Quabbin is closing soon, we have fish the gates at least once more each…
Back in June, Don and I made a trip up to New York (Willsboro, NY) for our first fishing trip.
ok, I know I have been slacking big time throughout the Summer…I haven’t post much, but I am now trying to get back in the rythm. Work projects have been taking over, actually I shouldn’t say “work” because I am lucky enough to say that my work is a hobby and I know that not so many people can say the same thing about their jobs…anyway, you’ll see more posts on the site within the next few weeks, most of it related to a 3-day fishing trip Don and I did at the end of June upstate New York…so check back soon!
Alright, I need to get this off the way. So far this year, we have not had ONE day of nice “fishing” weather…I don’t mean nice weather, because it is different that nice “fishing” weather. Not one day out on the water without wind, showers or heat!!! We are not for asking much, just give us a calm, overcast warm day!
Today, Don, Scott and I decided to take a day off (well deserved after working all week end long) and go to West Brookfield for some largemouth fishing.
Today wasn’t a day to spend outside, we probably went through 20 showers and basically spent the day in our rain gears. Gate 31 was a first for me, Don went the previous week already where he caught 3 nice smallmouth bass within a few hours (and he broke my smallmouth record of the year!) so we decided to give it a shot for a full day.
